drive smart

What do you do?
Driver's ed is broken. Your kid deserves better.
Every year, 2,800 teens die behind the wheel in the U.S. — most in their first 12 months of driving. The way we prepare them hasn't meaningfully changed in two decades.
Driver's ed in 2005
- $400+ for a stack of worksheets and a snoozy slideshow
- Textbooks last updated when flip phones were cool
- 30-hour Saturday classes nobody actually retains
- No way to practice the situations that scare new drivers most
Driver's ed for now
- Free to start, then less than a tank of gas per month
- Curriculum that updates the day your state laws change
- 5-minute lessons that fit between two TikToks
- AI-generated scenarios for rain, night, busy intersections, and worse
From permit test to first solo drive.
A complete path that meets your teen where they are — and gets them ready for everywhere they're going.
- 01
Pick your state
Ohio's first. We're rolling out state-by-state with curriculum that maps directly to your DMV manual — no generic, useless content.
- 02
Learn in five-minute bursts
Bite-sized lessons with crisp visuals and smart quizzes. Built mobile-first, because that's where teens actually live.
- 03
Practice the hard stuff
AI-powered scenarios put your teen in the moments that matter most: rain at night, busy intersections, surprise braking. Infinite practice, zero risk.
- 04
Pass with confidence
Track behind-the-wheel hours, ace the permit test, and walk into your road test ready. We'll celebrate with you.
Everything they need. Nothing they don't.
AI driving scenarios
Practice rain, snow, night, busy intersections — the situations that scare new drivers most — as many times as you need to.
State-aligned curriculum
Built directly from your state's official driver's manual. Updates the moment laws change. No generic filler.
Parent dashboard
See progress, track behind-the-wheel hours, and breathe a little easier. You're informed, not in the dark.
Mobile-first lessons
Five-minute bites that fit between classes, practices, and texts. Designed for the device in their pocket.
Adaptive quizzing
Smarter where they're weak, faster where they're strong. Spaced repetition keeps the right things sticky.
Real road confidence
Built by parents and engineers, not committees. Every lesson exists to make the first solo drive safer.
Built for the people who care most.
Peace of mind, on a dashboard.
You'll know exactly where they are, what they've practiced, and what they still need to work on. No surprises on test day.
- Real-time progress and behind-the-wheel hour logs
- State-recognized completion certificates (where eligible)
- Way fewer tense passenger-seat moments
- Confidence that they've practiced what could actually go wrong
Lessons that don't suck.
Built for the screen in your pocket. Five-minute lessons, wins you can show off, and no Saturday-morning classroom.
- Lessons that don't feel like school
- Pass the permit on the first try
- Streaks, badges, and progress worth flexing
- No 30-hour Saturday cram sessions, ever
A fraction of traditional driver's ed.
Most schools charge $400–$700 for a course. We charge less than a tank of gas.

Questions, asked and answered.
Is Drive Smart Academy approved by my state's DMV?
We're launching in early access for Ohio first, and pursuing official state-by-state approval as we go. Our curriculum is built directly from state driver's manuals, so even before we have a formal seal, the material is the right material.
How is this different from DriversEd.com or Aceable?
Two big things. One: AI-generated driving scenarios let teens practice the situations that matter most — bad weather, busy intersections, surprise braking — as many times as they need. Two: it's built mobile-first for how teens actually learn now, not as a port of a 2005 desktop course.
Do parents need their own account?
Optional but recommended. The parent dashboard tracks lesson progress, behind-the-wheel hours, and weak spots — so you can spend supervised drive time on what your teen actually needs.
What ages and devices does it work on?
Designed for ages 14.5 through 18, the moment your state lets them start. Works on any modern phone, tablet, or computer — with a native iOS app on the way.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No annual contracts, no cancellation fees. If your teen passes their test in three weeks, cancel after three weeks.
What about the in-car driving hours?
We don't replace behind-the-wheel instruction with a real instructor — but we make those hours far more valuable by preparing your teen for what they'll actually face. The dashboard helps you log and verify state-required practice hours.
